Post-doctoral Research Fellow in Austria
Written by LOWONGAN KERJA TERBARU on 07:14We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic researcher to join our team in the development of improved methods for the quantification of gene expression, exploiting thermodynamic sequence properties and probabilistic inference. The project equally requires an interest in mathematical modeling and the design and evaluation of appropriate microarray experiments.
Successful candidates are expected to hold a PhD degree in a technical or scientific field and must be able to demonstrate a proven track record of implementing and applying probabilistic models. The new group member will implement algorithms for probabilistic inference in R, MatLab, or Octave. Solid knowledge of a development environment for numerical problems is hence required. Experience with data analysis in a biomedical or life-science domain would be an advantage. In this project, an understanding of thermodynamics and non-equilibrium effects may also be helpful. The project requires regular interaction with laboratory scientists and engineers, e.g., assisting in the planning of well-designed experiments and taking personal responsibility for the full data analysis process. Aninterest in collaborating with researchers from other domains and excellent communication skills in English are thus essential (German a plus).
The position is available immediately and has an initial tenure of three years. We can offer a competitive salary/benefits package and look forward to receiving your application by 17 August 2008. Short listed candidates will be notified and invited for interview. Late applications may be considered until the position has been filled. Applications should be addressed to DrDavid Kreil.
Please include a cover letter, a curriculum vitae, a list of publications, and the names of three referees, who should be asked to send references to us directly. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
