Written by LOWONGAN KERJA TERBARU on 07:31The Department of Mathematical Sciences at NTNU announces a vacant PhD research fellowship position in computational mathematics. The position is connected to the numerics group, and the research will focus on development and analysis of efficient computational methods for solving parameterized partial differential equations. Special focus will be on reduced basis methods, as well as high order discretization methods. One application area will be numerical solution of the Boltzmann equation for diluted fluids. The project is funded by NTNU as part of the research effort within the ICT strategic area at the University.
The position is administratively part of the Department of Mathematical Sciences at the Faculty of Information Technology, Mathematics and Electrical Engineering at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU); see http://www.math.ntnu.no/ for more information. Currently, the Department has about 45 PhD students.
The applicant must have completed a master degree, or equivalent, within computational
mathematics. The applicant must fulfill the requirements for doctoral studies at NTNU (see
